Accessibility
Lodges & Accommodation: Hippo Lakes is designed to make mobility as seamless as possible for all of our guests. All spaces and venues at Mountain View and Lakeside Lodges are accessible by ramp, without any step, with the exception of (1) Mountain View Firepit with four steps, (2) Lakeside Firepit with two steps, and (3) Lakeside Braaipit with eight steps. The tents, walkways, dining areas, pool areas, and all other amenities are all accessible by ramp.
Activities: Joining for any Game Drives requires that guests be able to climb into the game viewer vehicles. That being said, the front seat of the game viewer (next to the field guide) is easier to step into and reserved for our guests with specific mobility needs. Please note that there are steps at the Tabletop Mountain Viewing Deck and the Bush Braai. Finally, the Bush Walk experience is unavailable to guests with mobility needs as it requires strenuous movement.
